Latte came into our via another rescue group.  Her owners, when they found out she had a medical problem turned her into the shelter.  No other Golden rescue group could be found who would take her in and deal with her medical needs.  Until our vet has fully evaluated her, done an ultrasound we will not know for sure which road we will be taking - whether she will have to stay on medication all her life or whether corrective surgery will be possible.

Latte is a very sweet girl and a little unsure of life at the moment and we are committed to doing the best we can for her.  We are pleased to report that the medication she is on is working for her and our vet feels she should be able to lead a normal life but will need to be on weekly medication.  This medication is not costly.

She can be a happy girl!

Latte Update - 14th December.  The incontinence problem Latte has is nowhere near as bad as when she first came into the programme.  We have tried several medications and the current one she is one really does seem to be helping.  What would help her the most would be to be in her own home with an understanding owner who could give her a little more freedom than she is currently getting at the clinic.

18th January 2008 - although the problem is a lot better than when she first came into the programme -she is not cured.  We are waiting to get an appointment with a specialist at UT Vet School - we are hoping this will happen in February -we are prepared to seek whatever treatment is necessary in the hope that she can lead a normal life and not have to wear a diaper.  We realise that this could cost us a great deal of money and so we set aside the monies we received from our gift wrapping fundraiser at Borders and also Barnes & Noble.  We will continue to add to this fund with general donations received during January and February.  If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to help Latte - please send it to

Latte needs all the *Golden Friends* she can find - thank you

On Monday, 11th February Latte will undergo surgery at UT Vet School to hopefully correct her internal *plumbing* problem.

19th February  - It will be a while before we know how successful the surgery was - keeping everything crossed that she will be able to go to a permanent home soon
