Thank you for visiting this page - recently, many of the Heartland dogs offered  for adoption, have had expensive medical needs, beyond our normal veterinary care, which stretches our treasury to the limit.  Before any of our rescue Goldens are placed in permanent homes they are vet checked, spayed/neutered (if necessary), heartworm checked (if positive treated and if negative placed on preventative). All are fully vaccinated (including Bordetella/Kennel Cough), and micro-chipped .  Saving  stray, abandoned, and neglected Goldens is a huge financial undertaking and all donations will be gratefully received.  Donations may be sent to HGRR at the address below. Please make checks payable to Heartland GRR. All donations are tax deductable.  Our nomal adoption fee for a dog from puppies to 6years or age is $175; 7-8 year old are $125; for Seniors and Special needs we ask for   a donation; dogs we feel are Golden mixes are $125.  In 2006 average expenses per Golden, prior to adoption, were over $650 per dog an increase from the previous year of nearly $150 - this included veterinary expenses, medication, boarding, grooming,  food and supplies.  The major increase was in boarding expenses due to our lack of private foster homes - many had to be boarded at commercial kennels; also many dogs were intaken with serious health problems, including a number that were Heartworm positive.

How to join Heartland's Circle of Golden Friends

(a) by pledging a monthly donation to a Virtual Golden Companion of your choice - when this Golden gets adopted then you choose another one to sponsor.  May we encourage you to be a Golden Friend to one of our Seniors or Special Needs Goldens.

(b) making a single donation to the  Virtual Golden Companion of your choice; it may be that  your Companion's expenses will be more than covered by you and other Friends, if this is the case then any excess will be shared with other needy Goldens.

(c) after you have decided who your Virtual Golden Companion will be, send your tax deductable donation to

Heartland GRR, c/o Susie Stooksbury, 103 Garnet Lane, Oak Ridge TN 37830

or you may make a donation via - send to goldensr4me@bellsouth.net

Please include the name of your chosen Companion, and your name and address.  Your name will be included on your Companion's Home Page and in our quarterly newsletter unless you wish to remain Anonymous.

We will send you a signed photo of your Companion.  If you need a letter for tax purposes we will be more than happy to send one.

It is hoped that sometime in the future we will have the time to compile expenses incurred by some of our seniors and special needs.
