Golden Friends
Unable to Adopt? Unable to Foster? Click here to find out how you can help one of these Goldens by adopting a Virtual Golden Companion.
Referrals
Referrals (when listed)- These dogs are NOT in the Heartland programme, but they still need love and a forever home; other Rescues, Shelters, Private Rescues or Owners provide their own descriptions, terms, & guarantees. Referrals will remain on the site for two months unless we have been notified the dog has been adopted
We strongly encourage you if you are interested in adopting a Golden you complete and submit an online application. Please click on the Adoption Procedure link, then go to On-line application; complete and submit. We need to have your application in hand so we can check references and do a home visit BEFORE the match can be made for you. Please note, that at times, not all of our available Goldens are displayed here. It could well be that the one that is the correct match for you has not yet had his/her photo taken; likewise the Golden that catch's your eye may not be the right one for you. We take great care in matching the right dog to the right applicant and are very proud of the fact that in the thirteen years we have been in operation very few dogs have been returned because they did not fit the owner's expectations.
If you can foster a dog for us, or would like more information about fostering please contact us at 4infogoldnresq@heartlandgoldenrescue.org
Video of Goldens available for adoption in January available here
Budleigh is 7 year old sweetheart. He has a true golden personality...sweet, laidback, and enjoys human companionship. He seems to be well trained. He is a big, beautiful boy at 95 lbs. Budleigh was a stud dog in his former life.
Angelique's previous owner was a hoarder who had 10 dogs in her care. Consequently, Angelique needs to be an only dog. She likes to go for walks and loves to cuddle, and she is reportedly good with cats and kids. She is estimated to be about 2 years old and would do well with some obedience training.
Hershey Bear is believed to be a Golden/Great Pyrenees mix. He is an active boy, about 3 years old, and needs some obedience training. He is used to being with children and is good with them.
Virtual friend of Coby and Rich Brady
Connor is a 5-7 year old golden mix. This sweet boy was saved from a meth lab fire. He is a bit overweight, but he will make a great companion for someone. He is understandably very shy until he gets to know you. Connor did ok with small children, but we think he would prefer a more laid back lifestyle. He may be ok with another canine companion as long as they are introduced slowly...he doesn't really care for an excited dog getting in his face, but he is getting better at dealing with it.
Taylor is a beautiful, 3 year old male, golden mix. He can be a little skittish at times, but once he gets to know you, he will be your shadow! We think he would make a great companion for empty-nesters or a retiree.
Adoption Pending
